Happy never ending winter!

Wondering where I have been for like a year? I didn't mean for that to happen, it just kinda snowballed. I've been semi busy and have a new and exciting shoe project in the works. Our new place is really cozy and if I don't have to leave, I'll run in place for awhile for the exercise before showing my face anywhere. When I'm at home with little to do I have found myself making these pom ladies which is super soothing and allows me space out. I now understand this craft!

Monster Drawing

I have only been to a drawing rally once, which was @ Southern Exposure in SF and when I attended I thought that it was something that happened everywhere. Turns out I was totally wrong. Midway Contemporary is hosting it's own 3rd annual drawing rally this Saturday night and I'll be drawing my heart out during the last time slot. Sound like a gas, and you'll have a chance to pick up a nice drawing or two for only 35 buck each! Or, you can always just do the people watching thing..

Found

I am so unorganized. I'm messy, I love to collect and rarely clean up after myself. I'll let the mess go and then clean like nobody's business. I was searching through my hard drive and found some long lost images I forgot I had even made.

Long lost drawings.

Thanks Eric

My latest zine 'Double Nature' is now available at Printed Matter. Also, I'll be at the NY book fair next year sitting behind a table. C U There, 2011.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

There is a nice interview on Secrets of the City about myself and our new space. It's interesting how I manage to negate everything that I actually do into just two or so projects and because of this I receive a 'Seamstress' title. Regardless of my own faults, it's a nice little bitty.

Turnip Rock

We have received our last CSA box for the year which means we have officially met winter. May I recommend the Turnip Rock farm outta New Auburn, WIS for your next years choice. It was one of the best decisions that we made this year as a building family. Happy winter to you!!

Public Privates

We stopped by ALL & ETC's place for a pom pom drop off this afternoon and they informed us about the Dressing Room feature on the Urban Outfitters blog. Funny. Our blog itself isn't very interesting, so I apologize to anyone who followed the link.

Bells Bells Bells

Caitlin & Zach

I spent this past summer creating wedding dresses for friends. I learned so much over those few months, one of them being that if I for any reason will need a specific dress for a specific occasion I will not be touching a machine and I'll be commissioning a friend! They were each really happy with their dresses and it was a treat having a role in each ladies planning and night. It really was a pleasure.

Soft Shoes

I started stitching and constructing shoes this year and made some slipper/shoes earlier this summer for Light Vision. All made from recycled fabrics in either floral or denim!

ALL For you!

I have been collaborating with the amazing Annie Larson this month by creating pom poms for her knitted hats.
Check out her shop, there are so many treasures.

Malone

Had the pleasure of creating a drawing for the cover of Kendra's first published book Everything is Quiet. Have yet to hold it in my hands, but the writing I know is beautiful.

Taking one large leap into Autumn

The summer flew by and I was so productive that it started boring me to tears around the end of August. I'm fine now, I promise.

1. I'm getting rid of my black vintage roller skates. They are yours if you want them.

2. Dressing Room is looking and feeling extremely positive. The first show will be at the end of October, so please keep your eyes and ears open for news on that.

3. I'm still giving haircuts for trade, fyi.

4. Woody Allen's voice has gotten old and less annoying. It's annoying.

5. If anyone has information on shoe making (classes, talent, shoppes) that may exist anywhere within Minnesota please shoot me an email.

Thank you! love, CQ
